First Grader and 5 weeks to go

We attended my grandson's kindergarten graduation yesterday.  What a sweet age this is!  Its amazing how much a group of children can learn and mature in one year.

Two Grandsons!
Our newest grandson will be here in 5 weeks.... or less.  He seems to want to come early.

Loved it, Debbie.

It has been 2 weeks since I have read your blogs. We were away at
Lake Junaluska and Alarka.

The 'baccer' notes were intriguing, but I am like 'Ancient One'. We did not have a harvester to ride on. The 'croppers' walked the rows, someone drove the 'sled'
to pile the leaves on and take them to the barn where others 'handed' and 'tied' onto sticks.

Hanging sticks in the barn was the same, but the Pack House adventure
was quite different. We needed to
'take off' the backer from the sticks, 'grade' the leaves and then tie a bundle with still another leaf. It was taken to market very neatly stacked. Not at all like the sheets of 'baccer'.

Farming is still evolving, is it not?
