We were away at
Lake Junaluska and Alarka.

The 'baccer' notes were intriguing, but I am like 'Ancient One'. We did not have a harvester to ride on. The 'croppers' walked the rows, someone drove the 'sled'
to pile the leaves on and take them to the barn where others 'handed' and 'tied' onto sticks.

Hanging sticks in the barn was the same, but the Pack House adventure
was quite different. We needed to
'take off' the backer from the sticks, 'grade' the leaves and then tie a bundle with still another leaf. It was taken to market very neatly stacked. Not at all like the sheets of 'baccer'.

Farming is still evolving, is it not?
Auntie Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14541510397748853635noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2423138689612653428.post-37586052185743405992013-06-29T14:38:31.156-04:002013-06-29T14:38:31.156-04:00Gorgeous and heart touching pictures.Gorgeous and heart touching pictures.Susannahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08760379367756142891noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2423138689612653428.post-50520328888389992292013-06-28T22:51:59.124-04:002013-06-28T22:51:59.124-04:00So sweet!
