A Day in June, 2013

Corn on the cob, watermelon, barbecue chicken, broccoli and cheese, macaroni and cheese and a play tattoo on a little arm.   Oh yeah, and a cloth "cow" napkin.

A scrounged up vase of flowers cut from the yard.  There are a few weeds too.

This cake is for my daughter.

I didn't make it.  Cake decorating isn't my best talent!
Grape tomatoes not ripe yet.

I'll be picking green beans this week!

We have been feeding the birds with seeds in the feeders and now the humming birds have come back.

It is so much fun to read your blog. I hope to make a little garden like yours for green beans and such next summer. Can I ask if you use a spray to keep the bugs off your bean? I planted zucchini and so far have had a rabbit and a slug eat the sprouts. I more or less just made a temporary garden by scratching up a the grass and there is no boarder so maybe that is my bug problem.

Happy Birthday to Lori. Seems you

Hi Rita, we haven't sprayed anything on the beans yet. The leaves are full of the normal bug holes but the beans themselves are ok so far. Tried to keep the little raised bed garden as organic as possible, but if I need to I will use some Sevin Dust.
