Small Town America - Going Hog Wild!

You know you live in a small town in the South when pig sculptures are painted by local artists and put on display all over the area. There is a map for those who wish to locate all the pigs in sort of a treasure hunt. You can also vote for the best in "Sow" by paying $1.00 and filling out a Hammy Award Voting Ballot.

Pigcasso:

Annie Blossom:

Wasn't it nice of the town to put Annie Blossom near these stepping stones and bench so she could have company? Don't you love her outfit and shoes?

Swine-nancial:

The Sunny Side:

Susie Sow:

There are 24 pigs, many of which are in store front windows. Some of the other names are: Pigsician, Heavenly Gunter, El Cerdo Feliz, Hog Heaven, Bensley Bill the Wakeboarding Pig and Art and Soul.

Only in a small town in America!

I added this picture of my office. I think the yard is very pretty with the Crape Myrtles in bloom. This is an old house that has been converted into offices. There is a lot of history in this house. I've never witnessed a ghost, but sometimes there are noises..... never mind.

I love the pigs. I'm sure they bring smiles to the faces of passersby. The crepe myrtles are beautiful.

The pigs are funny, a few years ago they did something similar with Cows all over the city of Portland (ME).

I love old houses, all the neat built in and different rooms.

Funny pigs! Our town is next to a circus town. There is a story that Modoc the elephant got loose years ago and ran through the town. So you guessed it. We have a coffee shop named Modoc's and painted elephants around town about the size your your pigs. :)

Deb,
I went shopping yesterday but JoAnn's didn't have Thomas the Train fabric. I opted for Strawberry Shortcake. I am making this to give as a birthday or shower gift so I could choose boy or girl. Thank you for such a neat idea!

Love the picture of your office. It is such a lovely house.

Where are those pigs? Ought to be in Sampson County, North Carolina!!!! But might be in another hog producing county or state. I like them, no matter where they are situated.

Hi Debbie,
What will they think of next? LOL I so enjoyed these pigs, and they did a great job too.
Debbie I have been off line and since it is so hot here, I am in today trying to catch-up, but i want you to know how much you are blessing me with your "Just be"series. The first one really spoke to me, and I have been trying to take some me time, and now reading these thoughts about setting captives free is so awesome.Thank you for taking the time to share.
I also enjoyed your post about the pasta primavera, and had to smile about the way you ate coming up, me too.and boy was it good! lol.
I grow basil too and don't you just enjoy its fragrance?
I notice you switched over to blogger template, how do you like it? I haven't made up my mind yet.
Enjoy your week and please try and stay cool.
Hugs,
Sue

Debbie, I like the new look on your blog - very cute!

Those pigs are adorable. I think small-town life has a lot of positive things going for it. I would love to live in such a place too as I'm not really a city gal.

Your work office is a beautiful home. It looks so much more nicer than plain old building, and yes, the trees are gorgeous!

Hi Debbie,
