Photos of the week

My grandson is four!!!

This is an old Southern home that has been turned into an accountant's office, and is located right beside the CVS where I shop. Imagine the sound this huge old tree made when being uprooted during Hurricane Irene. The city workers had quite a job cleaning up the portion of the tree blocking a major street in town, but this part of the tree hasn't been removed yet.

Nice that the old house was turned into offices. Those buildings are beautiful and yet hard for home owners to maintain. I use to go to an Osteopath in an old house and it was such a neat experience. Nothing like our doctor's offices today. Sit for 2 hours and rush for this test and that. The older doctor even gave me medication in a small envelope for a few $. I love remembering those times.

I'm sure the people in the accountant's office will miss the shade tha old tree gave during hot weather. They're extremely fortunate the tree fell into the steet instead of falling on the building.

I love the cat on the mailbox pic... did you take it? My mom said it sounded like explosions when the trees were falling around her house. I can only imagine what that big old oak sounded like!

So sad about losing that beautiful old tree... can't replace it...

Happy Birthday to your grandson. The tree that fell looks like too many around here. The big oaks just go thump when they fall, it was the pine that exploded. I like the cat on the mailbox! It made me smile.
