Lunch! A very frugal thing

I take my lunch to work most of the time, thanks to my hubby who packs our lunches every morning. In the summer my favorite thing is a ham sandwich with tomato. I take a small tomato in a separate container and slice it right before eating the sandwich. It is SO good!

A recent lunch:

Hubby believes in making a substantial sandwich!

There is no telling how much money we have saved by taking our lunch. He really loves to take leftovers, which helps to keep them in check. Besides the fact that we save a lot of money, there aren't too many choices for him in restaurants because of the location of his office.

That's something more people would be wise to do. I read about people cleaning out the refrigerator and throwing away leftovers because there wasn't enough for a meal for the entire family. If there's enough for one person, it's great to take for lunch.

Your tomatoes have turned out so good this year. I'm sure they taste great too. I've always enjoyed taking my lunch. We use our left overs and I enjoy tomato sandwiches as long as I can in the fall.

There's nothing on any menu that is better than homegrown tomatoes on a sandwich...

I do that, too. We aren't allowed to leave the building on our 30 minute lunch breaks and the facility doesn't provide meals for staff. so, it's either bring your own, eat out of the vending machine, or order delivery... which is very limited where we are located and takes forever to arrive. Most of us bring our own lunches, so it's no big deal... no pressure to eat out. I love it!

Hi Debbie,
I pack Dave's lunch too. It is a great way to save money.
I put in a couple extra snacks for him to have during the day.
