The Cotton Field

A Southern Summer experience... walking barefoot through the sandy soil in a cotton field.





Lack of rain has kept the cotton from growing as big as it normally would and the soil is dry and powdery.

Hard to believe that there are bolls of cotton open when the plants are that size!!!!!!!!!!! But, that would be hard to photoshop! It is truly a dry season.

Neat to see small feet in the sand. Give you that warm, sunny, summer feel. Won't be long before fall and I am ready. :)

That is one thing we don't see here in the Piedmont... cotton. Cotton fields are so pretty. Looks like your little one is having fun exploring!!

It's so dry that it looks like beach sand! We are enjoying a day of rain here, it should do the lawn and gardens good!

BTW, have you been able to pay off your mortgage with the Charlie's Tomatoes, LOL?

Interesting to see the different soil! We grow cotton in this part of Oklahoma, but it's "red dirt."

No cotton fields close to us this year. Your little one will really like to see the harvesters when they come by. I like those blue flip-flops!!
