In typical summer fashion, its VERY hot and humid here in Eastern North Carolina! I'm not whining, I promise. Just making a statement....
I am dreaming of a cool, crisp fall or winter day when I will have a nice pot of vegetable soup simmering on the stove.
These "maters and peas" will come in handy!
These new cucumber plants already have tiny baby cucumbers on them. You have to look close!
We filled in some vacant spaces in the garden with some new tomato plants that I grew from seed. These are called "Box Car Willie".
The cucumber plants will grow on the strings hubby has provided for them.
Its been a busy week! Hope yours was good. Have a great weekend too!

You freeze your veggies in such a neat way. Gave me an idea for mine. So nice that hubby put string up for tomato plants. The last time I had tomato plants they grew tall and broke off. I just was not putting the time into it that I could have. I've been looking forward to fall too and I've been thinking of baking (a Texas sheet cake) Yum! and making soups. Have a great day!
We planted a lot more tomatoes this year than we ever have before, with the dreams of freezing them for soup. Well, my garden is "toast" this year...maybe next year. :o( I'm glad to see yours is doing so well and that you and hubby have such a green thumb!!!
Beautiful freezer additions!!!!
It is so nice to pull your own veggies from the freezer to make soup in the winter... I love soups, which are definitely a cold-weather staple at my house!
My tomato plants didn't do well at all this year. I like the way you freeze yours in the bags.
Love the garden and the yummy stuff that you have already "put up" for your winter! Not ready yet to start wishing for fall and winter, but we are not having the hot humid stuff you are having. I will soon need to "take" a day to do some quilting soon, been outside keeping busy and miss my sewing room.
I remember the first freezer we got. It was at the end of the season and most of the vegies were done. My FIL planted peas at the end of one of his fields and I went out there to pick and freeze those peas. They were so good.
I don't do much freezing these days. It's there to hold the specials I buy at the grocery store.
