I love these large plastic boxes with lids that fit perfectly on the highest shelves of our bedroom closet. They also fit well underneath beds to help solve lack of storage problems. I found them at Dollar General, which has the best price too.
Here's a picture of one that I have designated my gift box. Its safely out of the way and neat.
My gift box contains odds and ends, stocking stuffers bought with Extra Bucks at CVS and the firstPillow Case I made during Friday Night Sew In in January and some things that have been there for a while that I need to go ahead and give as gifts instead of letting them hang around another year.
Its almost time for Friday Night Sew In for February! I can't wait to make another pillowcase and need to get busy picking out the fabric!

The gift box is a great idea.
I bought a gift box this year to put Christmas gifts in, along the way, this year. In fact, I added a cute pair of Santa Claus pj's to it yesterday....found at a REAL deal! I should start a "general" gift box, too.
I agree that the gift box is a good idea. I purchase items ahead and then do not remember them or where I have stashed when the date comes!!!!
By the ways, I have a green item for your house. When we are about to be together, please remind me.

Hi Debbie,
What a great idea. I look forward to seeing what you make tonight,

Deb,
I have a little basket just like the one in your gift box. I like it so much that when I retire I will use it in my home.
I've got a few gift boxes. It's so great to be able to pull something out when you need it, instead of spending a fortune at the store. The best thing is that my nephew has a summer birthday, so at the end of the season I just stock up on super-bargain toys that I can give him the following year. CVS always has amazing deals when they want to get rid of stuff. So he gets $10 toys that only cost me about a dollar.
Oops! I forgot my original reason for stopping by! Thanks for the sweet comment on Shadow. He's doing great and we are so happy to have him home. I took the cone off and you should have seen him running around like a lunatic, so happy!
