Being Consistent in 2011

Happy week before Christmas, 2010!

Everyone is busy getting ready for Christmas and the blog world is very quiet right now. But, here's a little bit of what's going on this week on the home front here. I hope to post more detail on my 2011 projects next week.

1. My theme for 2011 is to be consistent! Small steps consistently made will achieve great results. Whether this is applied to cleaning house, Bible study, sewing, couponing, menu planning, gardening or what ever it is you want to make progress toward.

2. I am continuing to organize my coupons as I described in my previous post. Since I have a box full of coupon inserts, I need to find the most recent ones, write the date on the front and file them in the accordion file. I am excited to consistently use coupons in 2011.

3. I have made some headway with organizing my favorite recipes into a binder. I threw away a HUGE stack of recipes printed out from the internet. It was a relief to let them go, keeping the ones I know I will use. I plan to have the binder ready to go by January 1st, 2011, complete with a list of menus, main dishes, side dishes and a grocery shopping list. I feel this will help me tremendously to plan menus, make grocery lists, etc. I want to post more detail next week.

4. I have been consistently earning Swagbucks every day. I've already earned a $5.00 Amazon gift card for Christmas, 2011, and am well on the way to a second one! If you are so inclined, please click HERE TO SIGN UP. Or come back later and click on the Swagbucks picture on my sidebar and sign up through there. This would give me a referral. Once you sign up, start searching using the Swagbucks search engine. When you win bucks, I would win bucks, up to 100. Thanks!

I am even more sure now that you only need to use the Swagbucks search engine about 3 times a day. First thing in the morning, in the afternoon and at night. You will only win swagbucks about that many times a day. Just be CONSISTENT! You will be amazed at what you will have at the end of 2011. I will keep a running total on my side bar in 2011 of how many $5.00 Amazon gift cards I have accumulated.

5. Are you feeling stressed out right about now? Remember: Cast all your anxiety on Him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7. My theme for 2010 was Trust.... need more of that in 2011 too!

6. Our weather forecast includes a possible white Christmas. This is a very rare occurrence here. We get snow, but not on Christmas. I'll keep you posted!

Have a very Merry Christmas and after the festivities are over, we will move forward into 2011 with a new purpose! Do any of you have an area you want to become more organized in for the new year? Lets make small steps over time CONSISTENTLY to achieve our goals. I would like to be able to say that I continued with my goals all year, and not just until the end of January, 2011.

I'm glad that you are not quiet today!

I'm up early planning my grocery list for the food I have to make for Christmas Day. I'm trying to get to Wal-Mart before most of the crowd.

"Consistency" is a good theme for 2011. That's what I need, too. Not necessarily perfection, but being consistent. I need more consistency in my Bible study, exercise, and eating right.

Debbie, I hope you and your family have the most blessed Christmas ever!

I love these posts. I want to sit down next week and plan out my 2011and how to get things done through consistency. With our many moves, in and out, here and there, my home has become a very disorganized mess. I want to clean out, throw out, and try to get organized next year!!

I haven't saved the inserts in the past but plan to start with the Sunday paper we get this week. In the past I've just cut out coupons I knew I'd use.

I want to be more consistent in keeping our place organized. Especially my sewing/craft room. I'm terrible at just walking out of the room and not putting the things I've been working with away.

I have all the food we'll nedd for the rest of the year and don't plan to go into a store until after the Christmas rush is over.

I have been using the "save the insert" coupon filing method for a while now, and it greatly reduces the clipping required. (I know you said you found out about it elsewhere, but I'm following the organization/information from couponmom.com -- she has coupon databases, also, and, if you sign up for her newsletter, you can also enter her monthly cash drawings.)

When you do need to print coupons, you might want to do so through swagbucks (see the drop-down menu under "earn." They're the coupons.com coupons, but if you redeem them, they're supposed to add Swagbucks to your account (I haven't completely tested this yet; it's a relatively new program, and they say it could take up to six weeks for those points to show up in your account.)

But, for an easy Swagbucks 1 point each day, don't forget to take their daily poll -- you earn one Swagbuck each time you participate.

Merry Christmas! (We will definitely have a white one here in Minnesota -- there is already 2 feet of snow on the ground!)

I signed up for Swagbucks with your link. I read your tips about morning, afternoon and evening searching. Do you search at those times until you win bucks or do you only search one time at those times to earn bucks? And does it show instantly if you win bucks?

I need to work on being consistent. It's easy for me to get frustrated and just give up on things till the next day. Or forget, I have the worst memory, been praying about that.

"Cast all your anxiety on Him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7."

Yes! I've been quietly working on this for years and I can say that through many prayers and constantly offering it up, I've grown in peace. I often think about Saint Teresa of Calcutta who said she was God's pencil. I think letting go is difficult for women. We are in charge of so many things. Many prayers for your success in 2011. :)

This is a great post for the upcoming new year! Consistency is an area I really need to work on. I am setting goals for the year rather than making resolutions. Small steps add up!
Books by Elizabeth George are a huge help in this area.
Your blog is inspiring to me too.
Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year to you and yours.

Hi Debbie,
Great Post. Dave said this is going to be his hardest hurdle. He always starts out with a bang then falls off the wagon soon. He has set his mind to be consistent in 2011.
I have so enjoyed these post.
