I'm a little hesitant to call my morning "wash my face and put on a little makeup routine" a beauty routine! But, it does help me to be presentable to the general public and to not frighten any children. :o)
I wanted to share with you the facial cleansing product that I have finally decided would be the only one I'll buy. I have tried many of the more expensive cream cleansers, pump cleansers, age rewind cleansers, etc., using coupons combined with sales and extra bucks from CVS. I will be honest with you, they don't really clean my face. It takes at least two repeats and even then when I would dry my face the towel would have a little make up on it, and I don't even wear that much makeup. I really don't like those that have the little cleansing beads in them. They are so hard to rinse off.
This simple facial soap made by Neutrogena is inexpensive and works really well. I recently bought this one at Walmart for $2.24 using a $2.00 coupon good on ANY Neutrogena product. For 24 cents, it will clean my face really well the first time and will not dry my skin. It also comes in a sensitive skin formula. My face feels naturally clean, not greasy or dry. One bar of the soap lasts a long time, also.
It simplifies my morning routine too. Its inexpensive enough that I can buy an extra one which goes in the shower to be used when taking a morning shower. I also place one in a plastic soap container on the bathroom vanity for washing my face there.
It also simplifies my shopping, since I no longer need to worry about which one of those expensive cleansers to buy and how to get a good deal on them. I do try to use a coupon on the Neutrogena soap, but if one isn't available, the price isn't too bad without one.
Do you use a beauty product that works really well, but doesn't cost an arm and a leg? If so, I'd like to hear about it.

Thank you for this tip. I have to admit I only use my homemade soap and then I use a generic oatmeal in the lotion product I get at Walmart and even though I am 61 years old, I think my face is in good condition (for my age!) Since we got milk goats and I drink the milk, my skin has been better hydrated too.
I will try the neutrogena soap soon... my face is so dry this winter. I've been slathering in a moisturizer the dermatologist recommended to me... Purpose Redness Reducer... found at CVS. It's a little expensive, but lasts a long time, and doesn't make my face feel oily. My favorite inexpensive tip is Tresemme' hairspray (aerosol, not pump) .... love it!
Thanks for suggesting this soap. I will give it a try!
I recently was out of my bargain stockpile shampoo with no promising coupons, so I bought Suave Professionals 2 in 1 (shampoo w/conditioner). I really really liked it. It made my hair feel really clean and it smelled good too! I think I paid $1.94 regular price.

I've never tried that soap, but I've always liked their products. I use baking soda with Dove to clean my face and it seems to do the job, but I'd like to rotate the products that I use.
I have been using the Walmart Equate knockoff of Cetaphil facial wash and moisturizer for years now. The tub of moisturizer costs a good bit, but it lasts about 9 months, used twice a day. The cleanser I put in an old pump bottle and two pumps is all I use. One bottle of cleanser lasts a bit over 5 months. I do have sensitive skin and this works beautifully for me. Sure wish it was just $.24 thought!lol
Hi Debbie,
I just use a little Oil Of Olay to wash my face with. I wear very little make up. I have found as I have gotten older that I like the natural look.
Hugs,
Elizabeth
This is fabulous. I have retired from the expensive skin products (my previous lineup cost around $98 from Origins) and now I just use my own homemade soap for almost everything. I not only use it for bath/shower, but also to wash my hair and face. DH uses it for his hair too, and can also use it for shaving. This has simplified our product consumption enormously!
P.S. I can also use the same soap for laundry or cleaning around the house.
I've been using Dr. Bonner's, and another natural soap(Chandrika). I use Dollar Tree sea salt as a scrub, and olive oil as a moisturizer...so far so good, but if I don't use the scrub, I get blemishes.
