Whatcha Working on Wednesday?

We have a store in the small town I work in that sells fabric, foam, sewing notions and more. They also have a table with remnants that I enjoy looking through. There are often one of a kind or unusual pieces of fabric and are $3.49 a yard. My only other choice for fabric is at Walmart. I do buy a lot of fabric at Walmart, but they have the same fabric over and over, it seems to me.

I went to the remnant store yesterday on my lunch break. This was after I had already been to the grocery store, so there wasn't much time! I grabbed these two pieces:

I thought this color would be cute for a pocketbook. I think it will go with most of my outfits, or at least it won't clash too much. I usually either wear brown pants or black pants with a matching top.

The picture doesn't really show the true colors. There is a slight sheen to the fabric.

All of the clothespin bags in my Etsy shop have been sold, so I've got to get busy restocking it! I found some more of this cute laundry themed fabric, so I grabbed it. The checked fabric is for the lining and I already had that in my stash.

These are some clothespin bags I have made in the past from this same fabric:

The bell peppers have been coming off faster than I can use them. So last night I made stuffed peppers, which uses up quite a few. Here they are before going into the oven. I just blanched the peppers for about 4 minutes and then stuffed them with my basic meatloaf mixture. I prefer to cook rice for a side dish instead of putting the rice into the stuffed peppers. I put 1/4 cup of water in the bottom of the baking dish and baked them for about 30 minutes at 350 degrees.

So what have you been up to lately? Go to Leslie's blog, My Country Home to see what other ladies are working on.

Looks like you're being very productive! :)

Deb, you make me hungry!! I have plans to make your chicken cacciatore. Mr. Wiggins does not care for bell peppers, so I will just have to drool over yours. You are, indeed, having a productive summer.

The laundry themed fabric is so cute. I know what you mean about seeing the same ol' fabric in Wal Mart. I feel the same way. I want to get over to G.boro and check out some fabric stores there soon. The stuffed peppers look absolutely yummy! Your family is so fortunate to have such a talented wife and mother!

Great fabrics for great projects. I used to hang my clothes outside a lot. But where we live now, it is not allowed. Which is too bad. Considering how much energy it would save.

Great projects! I soooo understand how it is to not a good fabric supply. The last little town we lived in only had a small wal-mart and I about went crazy! hahaha When we did go to the city I would go into a frenzy hitting all the fabric stores.
To answer your question "Whatcha Working on Wednesday?" I am working on organize things around my house for my Organized For Under Fifty blog party next week. Every time I see your clothespin holder I remember that I want to make one! I need to work on some sewing one of these days. I was waiting for a nice rainy day and today would be the day, but I'm baking cookies and making halupki's instead...

The stuffed peppers are making me hungry! I'm making halupki's the way my ex-step father taught me to make them. He also made stuffed peppers at least once a year and they were SOOO good!

Have a great day :)

I love the clothespin bags and the fabric with the clothespins, soap, iron, etc. on it., I have been meaning to make one but have not taken the time to do it yet. Thanks for sharing.

We are having stuffed peppers for dinner tonight.

Blessings,
Elizabeth

Lately, I've been making curtains for my daughter's friend. One black pair (!) and one pink pair. The blacks are done but the the pinks are almost there. I've been doing a lot of crocheting lately, too. I'm making a baby blanket and a giant purple crayon pillow. I don't know who's getting the blanket--it's just to store away for a gift. But the crayon will be a Christmas gift for the little girl who's getting the pink curtains.
Hey, thanks for stopping by. I never had go-go boots, but I'm sure my sister wore them! (I also remember that white lipstick was popular for a while. Ugh!)
LOL, my word verification is "hookedog." Not sure how I'd translate that, but it's a funny word!
