Blooming Tuesday - First Week in June, 2009

Mrs. Green Thumb Jean hosts Blooming Tuesday every week, so this week I am joining in!

This Foxglove is my favorite new plant. My daughter gave it to me for Mother's Day. The thing I like about it is that it is an old fashioned English garden type flower. It is a perennial and I'm enjoying it very much.

Shasta Daisies:

Another new trailing perennial called "Grace Ward Lithodora". If you look closely you will see tiny blue flowers.

My window box:

A Wave Petunia in a hanging basket. This is one of the clearance plants I bought off the "almost dead" rack at Lowes.

The first daylilly bloom of the year. They are getting ready to explode as I can see flower buds everywhere!

Oops! That's not a bloom, but a cute picture anyway!

Happy Tuesday!

Everything looks wonderful, Debbie. I wish I knew the names of flowers. We have a wonderful flower garden in front of the house that looks like it's all weeds. However, I'm glad I didn't pull any because the "weeds" are blooming all over the place! I'm going to have to get a perennial guide.

Your flowers are looking great. I'm impressed with how you brought the petunia back to life. I noticed a lot of cheap plants at Wal Mart yesterday. Wishing I had bought some now. Your kitty is too cute!

Hi!
Lovely flowers! My Day Lilies haven't bloomed yet. It's been too cold until a couple weeks ago. We are still having temps in the 40's and 50's of a night. Have a great day!!

The Foxglove is certainly a cottage garden plant! I got interested in old fashioned cottage gardens--probably because I live in the desert and can't have one--and one of the staples of the gardens was the Floxglove. You hardly hear of them nowadays. Very pretty!

It's great to have you back! I love foxgloves. Remember they usually bloom every other year so you'll have to spread those seeds. The window box looks great! Happy Bloomin' Tuesday! Jean
