Kitchen Tip Tuesday

In an effort to kick start my spring cleaning I am doing the zone cleaning system starting this week and since the kitchen is the zone Flylady is doing and its the room in most need of cleaning in my house, that's the zone I'm in this week.

I made a list of the things I want to get done this week in the kitchen and placed it on my side bar. I plan to do just a little bit each day, but will probably get most of it done Saturday.

I cooked some food this weekend for suppers this week, which helps so much with the time management thing.

Please check out my list on the left!!!

So my kitchen tip for this week is to make a list of what you want to get done in your kitchen and post it where you can check it out often. If you've got a blog, post it there!

My question for you: Do you replace your burner pans often? Do you ever cover them with aluminum foil? Do you use those pretty burner covers to hide them?

Happy Tuesday!

Hello! I currently have a smooth top stove, but when I had burners I tried both methods, the foil and the covers. I think I prefer the covers. The foil is too much trouble and even that can look dirty after a while, but the covers give your stove a pretty look. Just remember to take them off before using your stove. They do burn! Ask me how I know that! LOL!

No, I don't use burner covers or aluminum foil. I "try" to wipe off the stove good after cooking.

You have inspired me to clean my kitchen the flylady way! Actually you have already inspired me to get up and look at my stove top!!! Ha. They definitely need a good cleaning!

I think I must be a very messy cook. We have already had to replace our burner pans and its only been 6 months!

I used to do clean apts after move outs and learned a neat way to clean your oven racks and burner pans. You slip all of them in a trash bag, give them a really good spray of oven cleaner and fold the end of the bag closed. I do this outside and the heat of the sun makes the oven cleaner work FAST and hard. After an hour, you should be able to hose them off and have very little cleaning to do! Hope it works for you!

I, too, have a smooth cooktop and LOVE it. No more messy drip pans or horrible scrubbing. However, my new apartment stove has electric burners and drip pans. bummer! I will probably buy pretty covers to cover the unsightly dirty burners, as I hate to clean them! I have vowed to always, always have a smooth top burner in any home that we own... from here on out!
