Early Spring in Carolina

I truly love my home state. We get a good sampling of all the seasons, without the weather being too extreme. But I might not be saying that in July and August if we have the extreme heat we have been having that last 2 or 3 years!

Late yesterday afternoon when I was sewing I looked out the window and noticed my mailbox. This is what my mailbox looks like in early Spring. That is wheat growing behind it.

It brought back memories of the picture I took of it last August 28, 2007. It was the day after my grandson was born and I took this picture. That is corn growing behind the mailbox in this picture. It was approaching the stage where it would be harvested. In fact, it was only a few days after this picture was taken that the corn was picked.

I love the Carolina's too! This is my FAVORITE time of year. The angle of the sun changes and that alone makes it feel warmer even on the chilly days. Plus, my absolute favorite - going to the store to buy flowers and planting them. I have really pretty ones just waiting for that 70 degree high today for their chance to go outside. I have so many memories of the view of that mailbox. Looking out at that same field for years waiting for the school bus, or for the mailman to come. Makes me a little homesick to see it! :)

Thanks for stopping by. I heard of angels finishing prayers too. I am so happy for having mine. I don't know what we would do w/o them.
I remember as a kid we would do this to. Here in MN we still have snow. So we had to make up so fun for her.

Love your mailbox picture. I have always enjoyed groupings of "The four season" type pictures. You could do that with your mailbox pic's. I love Carolina weather too.... am looking forward to getting out into rural Rocky Mt. and enjoying farm country this year.
