Sew Crafty Friday
ZIPPER BAGS
I have been learning some new sewing skills. I wanted to make some zipper bags to match handbags I was selling in my Etsy Shop. I found some very good instructions on line and made these two.
The instructions stated that a zipper foot for your sewing machine was needed. I had a strange looking foot in my sewing box that I'd never used and decided it must be a zipper foot. LOL It was! It would have been extremely hard to sew the zippers without it.
I need to practice to perfect my new zipper sewing skill and I plan to put zippers in some of my hand bags soon.
Here are the on line instructions that I found: Zipper Bag Tutorial
Next week's new skill: Rag Quilt Hand Bags (I hope!)

Wow, those look like you've been making zippered bags for years!
It isn't impossible to sew a zipper without a zipper foot, but I can tell you, it's really hard. I lost mine so whenever I do a zipper, I have to sew it in two steps--first the bottom half, then I lower the pull and sew the upper half. Yeah, it's a lot of fudging. Maybe I should break down and buy a new zipper foot, LOL!
Beautiful! I love the material. I hate, hate, hate sewing zippers so I'm especially impressed - LOL!

Hi, again. Thanks for the nice comment on my afghan!
Hey, those pretty zip bags look familiar! ;)
Can I say again that I just love, love my beautiful bags you made with the wonderful goodies that came with it.
To anyone who reads Debbie's blog, she does lovely work and she's so reasonable & fair with her prices. Just take a look at Etsy and you'll see how reasonable her prices are compared to others!
Very cute! Custom bags/totes/purses of every kind imaginable seem to be the trend these days. Something I'd like to try in the future for sure.
Your zippered bags look great. You are doing such a great job with your bags and accessories! Love them.
Hi Debbie,
Love the zippered bags, you did a great job, they should sell well. In one of your older posts, you made a sheet to fit a cradle...I need to make a pack n play sheet but not sure how to make it fitted...any hints or ideas? Thanks for your help.
