Red Checked Kitchen Accessories

My daughter has a red theme in her kitchen and so I made her these red checked napkins, coasters and the bow on the wooden spoon. The wooden spoon is one I have had for over 30 years. This fabric was in one of my surprise scrap bags a friend gives me. Its 100% cotton and has a weave in it just like "real" napkins. Its so much fun to go through the bags and see what I can come up with for absolutely nothing.

I've haven't used the zigzag feature on my sewing machine very much, but I'm really beginning to like it! My machine is old, but well made and solid. It only has a straight stitch and zigzag stitch. Here is a picture of my machine posted a while back.

I'm still machine quilting the wolf wall hanging that we're going to use for a dog bed. I've committed to working on it a few minutes every morning before work. I don't have too much left to do. It bothers me to have to many UFOs/WIPs around.

I have so many ideas in my head for projects that I can't sleep sometimes at night!

Those are very cute kitchen accessories. I recently sewed black and white check curtains for my daughters kitchen.
Good news for me, I finally got my sewing machine from the shop today and it sews good as new!

Great Checked Accessories for the Kitchen...love them!

Question re your sewing machine:
Is it the oldfashioned zig zag or the 3 stitch each zig and zag one?

I have the old kind and I was wondering if I could sew knits with it?

Your daughter will love the kitchen accessories. I have always loved "country" red and white checks. Your wooden spoon has been a good one... love the green on the handle. I know what you mean about not sleeping for thinking of creative things... I've done that too!

Okay, I am so jealous of your daughter. That stuff turned out so cute! Hope all is well...Has she been using cloth diapers? I just started today and it hasn't been too bad. How is work? Law school has been a little tougher than my husband expected!

Very nice kitchen accessories, your daughter will love them! I just wanted to add something to your fall pantry list, extra batteries. Here in Pa. we sometimes loose our electric in the winter and the extra batteries are handy for flashlites, portable radio and tv.
