A Little Farmhouse Magic

A shady spot.

Since this picture was taken, the Petunia finally died from lack of soil for its roots. But, it thrived for a couple of months on practically nothing. This reminded me of Jesus's parable about the seeds being thrown on different kinds of soil. This poor Petunia's seed was not thrown on good soil!

The chair planters are filling in some. Even since this picture was taken a few days ago, the plants have grown very much.

Still supporting our team!

Brown Eyed Susans.

This year we have not spent a lot of time in the yard or garden due to many things. We have tried to make things more low maintenance also. Hubby moves the sprinkler around to different areas of the yard almost every day and I walk around with an empty gallon milk jug filled with water giving sips to my hanging baskets and a couple of newly planted perennials. The mulch we put out this year has helped tremendously in the weed control problems and with moisture retention.

There's a heat wave on the way this weekend. Triple digits for 4 or 5 days in a row. Sewing inside is planned. How about you?

Your yard is lovely this year... beautiful flowers everywhere!

When I looked at the 7-day forecast, I thought: there's going to be a lot of sewing getting accomplished this weekend... *whew*

I love that chair planter - cute idea! It's supposed to be very hot and humid here for the next 4-5 days so at least for today, I'm taking Emily and her friends to the pool.

Lots of pretties at the farmhouse! Can you believe I have planted brown eyed susans two times and can't get them to grow? Yours are pretty. Enjoy your inside sewing this weekend.....work for me!

The flowers look beautiful, we are going to have some hot weather, but at least 10-15 degrees cooler than your expected temps. I did a little sewing yesterday and may continue later today, after tending to a few weeds in the garden. Enjoy your time in your sewing room, look forward to seeing your progress!

Blessings,
Denise

Hey there. We've been away for a
little over a week, so have not read nor commented on your entries.

Your yard is always a step ahead!
I, too, love the red chair - and the wolfpack flag! In fact, you have a lot to love in your yard and on your porch.

We, too, will be hot. But, we must go to Cherokee for TJ's high school class reunion. They do it every year now that we have passed the 50 yr. reunion mark!!!! It will be a hot trip.

Happy sewing to you!
