Glimpses of Home

My mother has been in the hospital for 2 weeks and is now back at the nursing home. She just isn't doing well. My heart is not really into blogging much.

But here are a few pictures of things around my home lately. Eggs... my coworker has chickens and has more eggs than she knows what to do with. Would we take her extras? Of course! I didn't even know she had chickens.

A couple of pound cakes baking that I made using the eggs. This was about 2 weeks ago.

Some perennial flowers are blooming in the yard. I haven't had time to plant my zinnias and other annuals yet. I still plan to, but we will see.

I hope you have a good Wednesday.

Debbie,
I'm sorry your mother is sick. It is very hard to watch a parent go down hill. Both my parents and my step-father are gone now. All with illnesses that lasted quite a while. I loved taking care of them and yet gave to much of me. I was just talking to a lady at the clinic yesterday who has a major heart problem. She over did it for 4 years caring for her husband with liver cancer. She allowed herself to be the only caregiver. I know she wishes now she had asked for help. Such a nice woman I really enjoyed our visit. Please take care of yourself. Love these pictures. The lady I worked with charged $2.50 a dozen for small eggs. You hit the jack pot girl. :) Fun! You will feel like blogging again and until then we will enjoy a few blog posts whenever you have time.
I will pray for you and your mother daily. Your blog teaches me a lot. You are focused, determined and sew the most beautiful quilts. Better days ahead.

I am so sorry about your mom.
Yes, it is hard to blog when are lives and hearts are busy with other things.

Debbie, we do understand. As you know, we have been down this road.
It is important to care for your Mama, but it is also critical to look after yourself.

Your diversions of quilting and other facets of homemaking are a help.

Jealous of the eggs. How did you get them to be so shiny? The cakes make my mouth water!

Love you.

Sorry to hear about your mum Debbie, sometimes blogging must take a back seat when other more important things are happening in your life........crafting always helped me through some difficult times, I hope it helps you too.

Take care, sending hugs and well wishes to your mother,

I miss you Debbie, but completely understand when your heart isn't into blogging. I am sad to hear that your mom isn't doing well. I pray that today will be a good day for you all! When I first saw your eggs, I thought you and hubby had gotten into the chicken business! ;-)

No guilt about not being up to blogging... I'm sure we all understand.... and we're not going anywhere.

Prayers going up for your mother... and for you!

Prayers for you and your mom.
Some things are just more important than blogging.
We'll be here when you get back.

I thought the same as Penny. We do have chickens and sometimes we get overrun with the eggs. Our neighbor does a lot of cake making and she can use our extras. Sorry your mom is sicker. Praying for you...
