Thank You.
I want to thank all of you for your sweet comments, thoughts and prayers as a result of my father's recent death. Thank you!
I'm sure many of you have lost a parent. So you already know that losing a parent is a difficult thing, no matter what the circumstances or what kind of relationship the two of you had. Knowing that you will never see them again, in this life, and wondering if you honored them as you should have. There are memories, good and bad. There are thoughts of what could have been or what might have been in the future. There may be anger or just plain old feelings of deep sadness.
With all that having been said, I will take a short blogging break this week. My heart is just not ready to come up with anything uplifting. I already have a post ready which I prepared a few days ago, which I will probably post on Friday and it will be another "In the Kitchen With Debbie" post. After that I hope to be back to regular posting the following week.
Thanks again!

Debbie, Many prayers will be with you as just help your family make adjustments. Take time for yourself to grieve and heal.
Hugs & prayers for you as you grieve the loss of your Dad. Take your time, we will be here when you return.
My continued prayers for your family. Take the time you need for yourself. As Denise said, we'll be here when you return.
Debbie, I just stopped by briefly to discover the news. Please accept my heartfelt prayers during this difficult time. The grieving process does take time and it is different for everyone. May you find rest in the Lord Jesus.
(((Debbie))) I've just now had time to stop and really read blog posts, and I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of your father! I lost my mother many years ago, and I know without a doubt that God's grace is real, and He will truly be the God of all comfort to you!
Prayers for you and your family during this difficult time Debbie.
((hugs))

Will miss you this week... and will be thinking of you. (((hugs)))
Everything is going to be okay. Debbie don't you worry; there are too many people who are praying for your families recovery. Prayers for your family are all we can do.
Love you Mama
I definitely understand the need to take some time away. I hope you can be rested, uplifted, and encouraged. I have lost both my parents several years back, so I understand what you're saying. God bless you, and may He hold you in the palm of His hand!
I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. I lost mine back in 1987 and I can still remember the last time I saw him. I had come to visit with my 3 kids (my youngest was only 7 months old) and I can remember him standing on the sidewalk and waving goodbye with a smile. He had lung cancer and the time was going fast. He died a few days later. You are right, there are always good and not-so-good memories, but it's best to hold on to the best of them.
I also lost both my in-laws and miss them terribly. It does get easier, but the caring never does diminish!
Rest your heart and mind. When you are ready we will be here.
Debbie, you don't have to come up with anything uplifting. You already have, and that is your blog. I truly enjoy and am uplifted when I read here.
Take care and know that many care about you and are praying for you.
Love,
Debbie S.
