The Plates
Here are the plates I have been collecting from thrift stores, antique stores and Walmart. I had this spot above the dining room window in mind when purchasing them and my husband helped me to hang them this past week.
Some of the walls in the farmhouse are made of plaster and you have to be very careful about putting nails in them. So I will keep the items hung on the wall to a minimum!
Can you see the trees outside the window? Those are crape myrtle trees. There are two lines of them on each side of the house. I think there are about 20. I can't wait to see them blooming later on in the summertime.

Debbie, your plates are so pretty hung over the big windows. Crepe myrtles are some of my favorite trees. We used to have some really old ones in a house that we restored (the one that reminds me of your new home) and they always seemed to bloom around my birthday in July. I always said they were my birthday gift from God. :o) I am so enjoying your new home, as it reminds me so much of the home we were in when my children were little. Lots of good memories!
You really picked a winner when you got that house! Every picture is just beautiful. I love the way you hung the plates! It's even neater that you bought one here and one there instead of just getting a 'set.'
I bet those trees will be something else when they bloom!
Your plates look wonderful there! I love those trees. We have quite a few of them and they are so beautiful mid summer!

They look beautiful above those windows. This house is just gorgeous from what I've seen of it.
Love everything you've done so far. Would love to see those crepe myrtles through those windows again when they bloom.
What a nice collection of plates you have! I'm with "ancient one" above - you have to show us pictures when those crepe myrtles bloom! I bet they will be gorgeous. Thanks for stopping by the other day - welcome back any time. =)

Love the way you displayed the plates!
