Tilling the Earth

We grew these Giant Sunflowers and one has finally bloomed!

Some of the beautiful squash my hubby has grown.

Our first vine ripened tomato. I can already taste that first tomato sandwich!

This is the plant that God planted. This vine came up in this spot with no help from us. This is known as a volunteer plant. It looks as if we intended for it to grow right here at the bottom of this bird feeder. We don't know what the fruit on there is. Its not a cantaloupe and we don't think its a melon. It doesn't look like a gourd.

Bless us O Lord and these thy gifts, which we are about to receive from thy bounty, through Christ our Lord, Amen!

You eat tomato sandwiches! Me too!
I even take them to work for lunch in the fall. I slice the tomato/put in a container. Butter the bread and wrap face to face. Put the tomato on when it's time for lunch and then I have it. Yum! Others would say "What are you eating?" Then they started bring them. :)

My tomatoes aren't red yet, but my mouth is sure watering for one. We have a mystery plant this year too. My son planted, what was supposed to be squash, along one row. The vine ran and ran and now there is a perfect round dark green thing hanging on it... we don't think it's a watermelon, but we aren't sure. We are watching with much anticipation. I love your sunflower! I tried to plant them again this year, but the birds found my seeds. :o(
