Food For My Work Day

Good Tuesday Morning to you!

You would think that I would make myself a cute little lunch bag, but just never seem to get around to it. So, this is what my food bag for an average work day looks like. The sandwich box contains a turkey on whole wheat bread with light mayo. One half of the can of peaches is for an afternoon snack. The cheese grits are for a quick microwave breakfast that I eat at my desk while getting everything going for the day.

I took this bag of food to work yesterday. I guess its my age, but I forgot about the peaches and had a mid afternoon snack attack. I ended up eating a pack of nabs. If you live around here you will know that is a package of Lance brand square cheese crackers with peanut butter in them. It has to be Lance brand, although I'm sure the nickname "nabs" came from the brand name Nabisco. Sometimes they are called "square nabs", even though they don't come in any other shape.

Oh well, today I will try to stay away from the nabs!

Thanks for sharing your lunch. At school many of us bring our lunch in a bag like yours. =) Sometimes we have a soft sided lunch bag or box. Often things come to work in the bag they were bought in. All most all of us bring our lunch the last couple of years since the economy isn't doing so well.

I had to laugh, when I read, "You would think that I would make myself a cute little lunch bag, but just never seem to get around to it."

Why is it that we who love to sew gifts to give and items to sell, somehow never get around to making them for ourselves? Substiture any number of other words for lunch bag and those words could have come directly from MY mouth.

Go on, treat yourself, make yourself an adorable little lunch bag. You'll enjoy it, you deserve it. (. . . and I'll try to take my own good advice, as well.)

Hi Debbie,
Just love my Lance's nabs!!! Have to have one ever now and then and they do give you a pick me up. If people haven't tried them they don't know what they are missing.LOL Enjoyed this brought back a lot of memories when we used to barn tobacco and our favorite snack was a Pepsi and a pack of nabs!
Hugs,
Sue

You gave me a chuckle today! My husband is from the Winston-Salem area, and all of his family call packs of crackers "nabs". I've never heard it anywhere but from theme!

I think I've told you this before, but when I lived in Western NC, someone asked me what I was having for lunch. I told them a pack of nabs, and she thought I was crazy. They called them crackers. When I got back to G.boro area, everyone here knew what nabs were again. :o)
