Whatcha Working On Wednesday - Watermelon Wallhanging

Today is Whatcha Working On Wednesday at Leslie's Blog.

I have been busy in the sewing room this week working on the Watermelon Sampler Wallhanging, one of the items on my 2009 Sewing To Do List on the right sidebar. The pattern turned out to be a real challenge for me, but I didn't give up until I had a decent outcome!

In this picture I was edge stitching the stars I had appliqued with Wonder Under.

This is what the finished top looked like.

Early yesterday morning before work I pin basted the wallhanging.

This is the wallhanging at this point in its progress. I machine quilted "in the ditch" and around the edge of the stars. Tonight I plan to make the binding and hanging sleeve and attach them to the quilt.

I also made a pink and white calico grocery bag for my Etsy Shop.

So, Whatcha Working on this week?

Really cute, Debbie!

When I saw the stars in the first picture, I could not imagine what stars had to do with watermelon but all put together, it looks so nice.

I think you are amazing, doing so much sewing and homemaking in addition to your career.

As usual, I am impressed with my sister-in-law! You do such a good job.

Now. I understand about the sleeve for hanging. But, what kind of hardware do you use for hanging?
