Up and At Em!
Its already been a busy day for me! This whole week is turning out to be kind of crazy! I'm a little behind at home and at work, so my post today will be brief!
I was up at 4:10 A.M. this morning with my hubby who had to leave at 4:30 A.M. to be at a meeting three hours away in Charlotte by 8:00 A.M. After he left I did a load of laundry, commented on some blogs and worked on redecorating my mantel. I dusted it, which it needed badly. Brick dust falls on it, if you know what I mean.
Here is one end of the mantel that I worked on. It still needs something else I think, so its still a work in progress.
Happy Thursday!

That looks great.
Love the new look. Mantels are hard for me... such a large space and I have a hard time filling it up and making it look right. Love your willow tree angel... I have two of them and hope to get a few more.
Hmmmm...is the lamp sitting on a book? I can't tell what's behind the sign. If you have the book, I'd move it over to where the angel is (maybe a little to the right), add another book or two and sit her either on top or just in front of them. Or you could put a small figurine in front of the sign, between the Welcome and Friends.
I had a mantel in my old house. Wish I still did...fireplaces are awesome!
You did get an early start. It has been a busy day for me also. Your mantel looks great and I love the little angel. Have a nice day and thank you for sharing.
Blessings,
Elizabeth
Oh, I need to dust as well!
I like your mantel decorations, very nice.
I have brick around my fireplace too. What a pain! How do you clean yours without making a huge mess all over everything?
Love the decor and the lamp!

Personally, I would have some sort of greenerary/flower thing with it. I have a very large mantle, that gets very hot, but I have a bush that looks like flowers ready to bloom. So it's not really the big bushy greenery. I guess it's ahrd to explain. It works well with the other items I have on it and takes up the dead space.
Very nice. I love the "Welcome Friends" sign.
