Six things that make me happy

I've been tagged by Alexandra and Dianne. Alexandra's tag is to name six things that make me happy and Dianne's tag is to name six random things about me, so I hope to combine them both in one post!

Six Things that make me happy and random tidbits:

1. My Hubby, of course. He always makes me laugh and is so much fun to be around. A random tid bit: We are both the youngest in our families, but he was a late baby for his mother. His brothers and sisters were much older than him and he has nephews who are older than him.

2. Sewing/quilting. If you've read my blog, you know this already! Random tidbit: My first real quilt was made using the Georgia Bonesteel Lap Quilting System, because I didn't have a quilting frame and thought this was the only way I could make one. My Lap Quilting book is raggedy I've used it so much. The quilt was for my daughter and was a Sampler Quilt. Maybe I can take a picture of it while at her house some time to post here.

3. Reading the Bible and spiritual books. I don't do this nearly enough, but I feel such peace when I do. Random Tid Bit: I am trying to read the Bible before I do anything else in the morning. I get side tracked by the computer sometimes. I noticed the other day that the computer (dial up!) was so slow first thing in the morning that I couldn't use it until the virus protection finished updating. I think maybe God is trying to tell me something!!! Now I read the Bible while the computer is doing its thing.

4. Blogging. I never knew how enjoyable this would be and how many new friends I would make in the process. Random Tid bit: It took me much trial and error to figure out the whole blogging thing. I'm still not too good at lots of things. It makes me sad when I don't get many comments, but realize that doesn't mean the content isn't good. Comments make me happy! (hint, hint, hint)

5. Couponing/thrifting/deal shopping. This is a hobby that has the side benefit of saving money. Random Tid Bit: It makes me nervous to go up to the counter in a store with all my coupons. I feel like the clerk and the people in line behind me are irritated with me. I'm trying not to let it bother me. I do try to have my stuff organized and not make a stink when something won't work. After all, its only a dollar or two. I just say ok, and go on.

6. Just being home.... candles, music, sewing, gardening, cooking, cleaning, loving. Random Tid Bit: I think I could stay home for days and not mind. I don't have to be on the go like some people, who my husband jokingly says are working for the state packing the roads! LOL

I tag anybody who reads this and wishes to participate! Let me know so I can read the random things that make you happy.

Hi Debbie,
This was so neat. Now I know more about you. Concerning the comments.I don't get many either. I can post a really good helpful post or recipes and get very few comments. Someone esle can post a zit on their nose and get 100.LOL Go figure.
Hugs,
Elizabeth

Hi Debbie,
I'm sorry that I don't comment all the time :( Sometimes I only have a few minutes on the computer and then life happens and I never get back to it. I do read your blog everyday though and love it!!! Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Hi Debbie,

I came to get my award and to tell you THANKS...

I also finally got a store card from CVS this week. Now I have to go back to find the post when you explained how to get those wonderful buys. We went for coffee and got large jars of instant, buy one get one free! I didn't get any bucks back... but I'm going to study the ads very closely this Sunday.

i have just read your blog for the first time. You have given me the inspiration to embrace my free time instead of wishing I was working or doing something else. I have a blog but its more of a diary really. I will carry on reading. Merry Xmas

I'm sorry that I never sent a comment to you before today. I can't remember how I discovered your site but I read it often with enjoyment. Most importantly, I have followed your tutorial for making grocery bags and love the bags. Gave one to my SIL who was very impressed. So, thanks for that wonderful guide.

Hi Debbie,

I have never left a comment for you... but I check your blog everyday for new postings.

I think we have alot in common. I, too, am a Christian, work a full time job, but would love to be at home. We have many of the same hobbies; cooking, sewing, puttering around the house. I also make soap as a creative outlet.

I have never made a quilt, but you inspire me! The projects I like usually don't take that much time LOL! My sewing is usually clothes for my granddaughters or aprons, cosmetic bags, etc.

The post I love the most was when you were talking about being a homebody. That's me! I thought I was the only one:)

Anyway, I thought I would leave a comment for you. When you were on vacation I was anxious for your next post!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for all the kind comments. Thanks to those who've commented before and those new commenters (anonymous and Eileen!). I sometimes wonder if anybody cares whether I post or not. Now I feel that its worthwhile!

I enjoyed reading about what makes you happy and the random things about yourself.

It is good to get to know another blogger a little bit better.

I would come over and read more and comment more but it seems I hardly get enough time to read my scriptures daily and do my work let alone write my own blog which I haven't been doing very consistantly lately and then read others and comment. I'm hoping after the holidays, I will find a bit more time but I enjoy reading others blogs and responding too! Don't get discouraged others are probably just like me...very busy!

But I want you to know that I do enjoy your site and come over as much as I can.

Blessings,
Dianne
