I recently bought this little 2 sided chalkboard on Amazon to use as a photo prop with my grandchildren. In addition to its use as a photo prop, I discovered that I really like writing different things on it. It sits on the kitchen counter where we see it all the time. I am really enjoying it.
Here I used it as a photo prop:
I used it here for my granddaughter's 2 month pictures. I will be using it for this purpose a lot in the future.
Here I wanted to surprise my husband with a compliment! He didn't notice it at first, so I took a picture and texted it to him. He thinks I'm kind of crazy. LOL
It will be great for different seasons. Fall, Winter, Christmas, Valentines, Spring, Summer, 4th of July and birthdays, etc. will be showing up on it.
One favorite way to use it is for Bible verses or Christian quotes
.
I'm not a chalkboard artist, but I can write and draw a simple sunshine, flower or heart! Also there are all kinds of ideas on pinterest.
The frame is natural wood, but I'm thinking of painting it. Just not sure what color.
If anyone is interested, my Amazon referral link for the chalkboard is below:

Fall Around The Farmhouse
Good morning! Fall is my favorite time of year and so the Fall decorating at the farmhouse has begun!
I hope you enjoyed this little Fall tour!
Door mat from Dollar General. Love the few scattered leaves already at the top.
This flag is perfect because my hubby has a red truck and lots of times there are pumpkins in it!
This is what you see when you come in our back door. I made the runner a few years ago. The only thing new is the "harvest" sign which came from Dollar General.
A yard sale find a few years ago.
I grew this sunflower.
If you look close you will see that the dishes in the china cabinet are Christmas dishes!
Another red truck with pumpkins.
This is old but I bought it at Family Dollar.
The Fall quilt I made many years ago.
I love this leaf shaped bowl my daughter gave me a few years ago.
I love anything with sunflowers on it!
Fake gourds.
This is a runner I made a few years ago on the kitchen counter/bar.
This picture has battery operated flickering lights. I bought it on a deep clearance at Family Christian Stores a couple of years ago. Its one of my all time favorite fall decorations.
Dollar General scare crow girl and mini stool.
Mini stool from Dollar General.
This is what the stools look like without the items sitting on them.
An old yard sale find.
Dollar General..... again.
I'm the first person in the neighborhood with pumpkins on display. There will be more to come!

Thinking about Fall.......
All it takes for me to start thinking about Fall, is a few cloudy, slightly cooler days.
Are you looking forward to Fall?

Goodbye October
My first attempt at making a garden flag. I appliqued the curly "J" on the fabric with the sewing machine and put rocks in the bottom to help keep the flag straight in windy weather. Everything worked well, except the black fabric "J" was faded in just a few days by the sun. I fixed that by painting the "J" with some acrylic paint that I had on hand. Worked like a charm!
Baby Jake's pumpkin was put to good use in his family's Fall display.
These lilies bloomed really late this year.
I finished the Papa Jack Quilt.
Loads of pumpkins.
A pumpkin topiary designed by my hubby.
Baby Eli playing the piano.
My hubby brought me these beautiful mums and pumpkins.
I did a lot of Fall cleaning. You can get a good amount of work done in only 20 minutes a day. I loosely followed Flylady's zones. Each week before work I worked in a different room of the house doing some detail cleaning. The biggest problem in our house is dust. Its everywhere. I have to vacuum, dust and dustmop constantly to stay on top of it. Thinking ahead to the holidays is much less stressful for me when I have the housework under control.
I love this time of year and look forward to November, and the winter.

Turn around and you're a young wife with babes of your own.....
How can it be that my first born is 34 years old? It happened while I wasn't looking.
It reminds me of that old song: Turn around and you're tiny. Turn around and you're grown. Turn around and you're a young wife with babes of your own....
Happy Birthday dear daughter!
