Another Use For Cloth Napkins

Anything that is reusable, instead of disposable, is a money saver. Cloth napkins are a wise investment, especially if like me, you have plenty of fabric scraps to make them from.

My hubby picked our very first squash of the season, washed them and placed them on a napkin to dry.

I use my cloth napkins to cover my bread dough as it rises too. Lots of uses for them! :-)

I have lots of fabric to use. I'd better get to work on my napkins. The squash looks so good almost ready to cook. Squash casserole or fried squash....delicious either way.

Looks delicious! I have many homespun fat quarters and I think they would make perfect household cloths.

Have a wonderful day.

yummy... wish I had supper with YOU last night. Can't wait for some good ole squash and cukes, myself. I've been seeing vintage doilies with little beads hanging from the edges, as little weights... people used them to cover their bread while it was rising, etc. I want some of those now. I think they would be pretty to use on Sunday's when the food is still sitting out and we want to keep the flies away!

Wonderful! We only use cloth napkins around here. I haven't made any of my own yet, but I will be soon. How exciting that you got your first harvest! Mine aren't anywhere near ready yet. Those cucumbers looks so crunchy, I can just taste them. I hope my garden comes around. I look forward to seeing what else you grow.

I love cloth napkins and make them from scrap fabric as well. It was tough in the beginning training the husband to use them, but he likes them now.
